Drawing on my extensive experience as a midwife, I’ve witnessed first hand the remarkable benefits of integrating hypnotherapy into perinatal care. Pregnancy can be a time of heightened anxiety—and hypnotherapy is incredibly effective at soothing the nervous system, significantly reducing stress, and promoting relaxation for both expectant mothers and fathers.
Additionally, the Rewind Technique is a powerful, evidence-based method for addressing phobias, birth trauma, and PTSD. it is used extensively during the antenatal and postnatal periods and and the transformative outcomes have been truly impressive.

Feeling fearful and anxious about childbirth is incredibly common. However this anxiety can sometimes become overwhelming and begin to impact on your enjoyment of your pregnancy. (Known as tokophobia)
Solution-Focused therapy can be a really helpful tool to address this. Instead of needing to go into all the underlying details of why you may be fearful , we use a combination of guided relaxation and focus on positive solutions. Together, we find your strengths and skills for dealing with the anxiety.
Using guided relaxation we will guide your imagination to picture a future where the fear is much reduced. It’s like creating a mental image of a time when you feel more in control and less frightened about giving birth.

Birth Trauma for Mothers and Birthing people
£200/ 3 sessions
Rewind Therapy, also known as the Rewind Technique, is a specialized method to help mothers and birthing individuals deal with birth trauma. It’s a non-intrusive and efficient way to process tough memories linked to childbirth. During this therapy, you’ll be guided into a relaxed state to mentally revisit the traumatic birth experience without feeling the emotional distress all over again. Unlike other therapies, we don’t need to discuss all the details of the traumatic event.
By revisiting the memory in a safe and controlled way, the goal is to lessen the emotional impact linked to the trauma. This method has shown promise in helping mothers and birthing individuals process and reduce the emotional burden of birth trauma, leading to relief from symptoms and a stronger sense of empowerment and well-being.
Birth Trauma for Birth Partners
£200/ 3 sessions
Supporting someone through a tough birth experience can be emotionally exhausting. Watching a loved one in pain or distress can make you feel helpless and frustrated. Unexpected things during childbirth can catch people off guard and add to feelings of trauma.
In therapy for birth partners, we will guide you into a relaxed state and use solution-focused techniques together with guided imagery to help imagine a future where the emotional impact of birth trauma is lessened. Instead of dwelling on the challenging moments, we focus on times when you coped well or felt positive. The goal is to change and reduce the emotional intensity linked to a traumatic birth experience.
By encouraging a forward-looking and positive mindset in these sessions, birth partners can develop ways to cope, lessen anxiety, and improve overall well-being and resilience. We will work together to process and overcome the challenges of any birth trauma.
